Did you know...

The Phrase That Built Christianity, And the Greek That Undoes It

You were taught that Jesus “died for your sins.”

That single line may have shaped your faith, your identity, and your relationship to responsibility.

It became the foundation for:
– substitution theology
– guilt-based salvation
– the belief that someone else must carry your inner world

All built on one English word: for.

But the Bible wasn’t written in English.
Go back to the Greek, and the doctrine shifts.

The phrase “for our sins”
uses ὑπέρ (hyper) and sometimes διά (dia).

Neither word means “instead of.”
Neither implies substitution.

The words actual mean:
ὑπέρ = because of, on account of
διά = because of, due to

Read that again.

Jesus didn’t die instead of you.
He died because of sin.

______________________________________________

And if we go further... the Aramaic word for “sin” (het / heṭṭā) means:

Misalignment = missing your true self.
Acting from fear instead of alignment with God.

He died because humanity refused to face its shadow.

Fear, Ego & Avoidance killed Jesus.

So the real question becomes:

When fear rises, what do you crucify?

Your ego? Or the Christ within you?

Sit with that.
