Take a look inside
But...
But, I'm not religious.
Cool. You don't need to be.
You also don't have to believe what others believe.
But here's something fascinating...
A man who lived around 2,000 years ago became one of the most influential figures in human history.
So let's explore...
How does the Jesus presented in the Gospels actually behave?
What does he do when he's betrayed?
What does he do when people reject him? What does he do when he's angry? What does he do when he's frightened? What does he do when people try to provoke him?
And whether you're Christian or not... those are pretty interesting questions.
Get to Know Jesus.
Read it. Question it. Journal it.
Decide what you think.
But, I don't believe Jesus is God.
You don’t have to agree with the conclusion to examine the material.
Christians may approach Jesus through faith. Others may approach him through history, philosophy, psychology, literature or simple curiosity.
This journal gives you the passages and the questions. What you believe about the answers remains yours.
But, isn't it all just made-up fairy tales?
Then you're still welcome to read it as literature.
You don't have to accept a text as sacred to find its ideas, characters and questions worth exploring. Read the passages. Examine the character of Jesus as he is presented in them. Question what you read. Keep what resonates. Challenge what doesn't.
Curiosity is enough to begin.
But, isn't religion is dangerous?
Then questioning religious texts rather than accepting other people's interpretations of them might be especially interesting to you.
Do I need to be Christian?
No
You don't have to be religious to be curious about Jesus.
Christians may approach these passages through faith. Others may approach them through history, philosophy, psychology, literature or simple curiosity.
There is no conversion exercise.
No test of faith.
No required conclusion.
The journal gives you the questions.
What you believe about the answers remains yours.

However you arrive, you're welcome here.
Maybe Jesus is central to your faith.
Maybe you've never opened a Bible.
Maybe organised religion makes you uncomfortable.
Or maybe you're simply curious.
Start where you are.
Bring your questions.
Bring your beliefs.
Bring your doubts.
Then read.
Why we made this edition
Jesus is one of the most talked-about people in history...
And yet so much of what we think about him comes from what other people have told us.
We wanted to do something simpler. Go back to the Gospels.
Read what he said. Notice what he did. Pay attention to how he treated people, how he responded under pressure, what angered him, what moved him, what he refused to participate in and what he stood for.
And then ask: What do I actually think? That's what this Special Edition is for.
